The Position
We have an opportunity for a full time Animal Care Assistant to join our clinic team to help care for the wildlife and domestic animals that come into the shelter. The team is responsible for the daily feeding, cleaning, medication, and rehabilitation of each animal in their care.
This is a busy and varied role. You will be caring for a large variety of birds, from garden birds and seabirds, to birds of prey and pigeons, as well as reptiles and small animals, including rodents and everyone’s favourite, squirrels!
The team work across a rota to ensure cover is available 7 days a week, therefore weekend work is required. During the busy fledgeling season, you may be required to work outside of normal office hours. Training will be provided by experienced members of the team, but some experience and a love of animals will be a distinct advantage.
