The Position

Purpose: A Senior working in risk assurance and data analytics, will be responsible for connecting with the issues our clients are facing, quantifying risk and advising them on how to mitigate those risks:

  •  Reviewing client business processes, identifying relevant risks and mitigating controls.  Capturing and assessing the design and operating effectiveness of the control environment and advising the client accordingly.
  • Assisting with identifying the risks arising from businesses’ use of technology, including cyber security, digital systems, IT resilience, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, social media, and major transformation programmes. 
  • Utilising data analytics to help quantify identified risks and to support assurance colleagues in delivering a high quality and efficient audit.

The Responsibilities

  • Works with different businesses to identify and analyse areas vulnerable to risk.
  • Works closely with colleagues to provide robust financial and risk management advice to our clients, developing unique solutions to the challenges they have.
  • Works as part of the team to manage, plan and administer a portfolio of assignments from the initial client take on through to the conclusion of the assignment; enabling completion to a high standard within agreed timetable and budget.
  • Builds and maintains good client relationships, keeping up-to-date with significant changes in client affairs, to ensure client retention and growth.
  • Applies company policies and procedures and completes allocated tasks to a high standard which meet set reporting and ethical and professional standards.  
  • Responsible for on-site management and supervision of junior team members, providing on-the-job coaching to support their on-going development. Conducts staff performance evaluations at the end of assignments, providing constructive feedback. Recommends training where relevant and takes appropriate action when technical and professional expertise of team members is not at the required level.
  • Monitors own WIP and ensures a positive contribution is made to departmental billing.
  • Acts as an ambassador of the firm, building relationships and promoting the firm at every opportunity to facilitate new business opportunities.
  • Maintains professional qualifications and CPD requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience 

  • Highly PC literate with good knowledge of Windows software and Microsoft 365.
  • Possesses excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Is a team player but also has the confidence to work alone on certain engagements. 
  • Has attention to detail to ensure that the quality of work will meet the required ethical and professional standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines coupled with a flexible attitude and a proactive approach to work. 
  • Displays initiative and lateral thinking coupled with the ability to solve routine problems. 
  • Analytical with the ability to analyse data from a variety of different sources.
  • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and has the confidence to deal with people at all levels.
  • Committed to effective client service.
  • Ability to apply the technical knowledge gained via the studies towards the professional qualification.


Experience / Qualifications / Education

  • Relevant accounting / audit qualification
  • 2 years post qualification experience in assurance, internal audit, or risk and controls advisory
