Job Description: Club Director
Position Type: Part-Time Contract (25 hours/week)
Salary: £18,000 per annum
Location: Jersey Squash and Racketball Club
Reporting Line: Club Officers
Day to Day reporting: Club VP
About the Club
The Jersey Squash and Racketball Club is a thriving rackets club and community based at the St Clements Sports Hub. We have five courts including a show court for exhibition matches and strong team and individual squash and Racketball leagues. We hold two very successful and growing festivals each year; a Racketball festival just after Easter and a squash festival in October. Our junior development programme is amongst the best attended to be found anywhere. Outside of the playing of sport we have an active and vibrant members bar.
Like many clubs we have a loyal but aging membership and we need to bring in new adult members of any standard into playing. The primary role of this new position is to develop new initiatives to attract new adult members to the club but also to develop the pay & play option to tie in with the public access ethos of the St Clements Sports Hub.
Purpose of the Role
The Club Director is responsible for the operational management, member engagement, and strategic development of Jersey Squash and Racketball Club. This role combines administrative oversight, facility coordination, with a specific remit to grow the adult membership, and community-building initiatives to ensure the club runs efficiently and continues to grow.
The role does not include junior squash development which is the responsibility of Squash Academy Lead nor anything more than minor maintenance of the infrastructure which will be undertaken by others.
