Ronez, the market leading heavy building materials supplier in the Channel Islands, are seeking a Business Controller to join the Senior Management Team. The position could be based in either Jersey or Guernsey and will involve regular inter-island travel. 

We are seeking an exceptional, commercially focussed individual who will help steer the future development of the business. The Business Controller (“BC”) is responsible for connecting operational performance with financial outcomes while overseeing key elements of the organisation’s information, data, and technology landscape.

Key responsibilities will include: 

·       Acting as the primary link between the finance and operations teams, to ensure operational decisions are informed by accurate financial insight.

·       Responsibility for shaping and executing the organisation’s technology strategy to support business objectives. This role oversees all aspects of information technology (IT), cybersecurity, data governance, digital transformation, and enterprise systems. 

·       Involvement in preparation of Year End Budgeting process and development of new Budgeting Model(s) for Finance.

·       Work with Finance Director to develop, implement and operate systems, including significant involvement in month end stock procedures. 

We recognise that this role may be of interest to candidates who do not have a background in the building or civil engineering industries. However, we will be able to provide extensive, tailored training to a candidate with the necessary drive, motivation and business background.

The opportunity

Hours: A minimum of 30 hours per week, with the working pattern to be discussed
Remuneration: An excellent remuneration package is available and will be discussed at interview.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a recognised qualification in Dental Hygiene
  • Be registered with the General Dental Council
  • Have relevant post-qualification experience
  • Be able to provide a portfolio of documented continuing professional development
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of patient care
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be professional, reliable and well organised
  • Be passionate about preventative dentistry and patient education
  • Be comfortable using dental practice management software and general IT systems

Experience using SOE/EXACT would be an advantage, although training can be provided.
