Warehouse Assistant

The Warehouse Assistant works closely with Goods-In and the Sales team.  The main duties are to assist in maintaining an organised and efficient warehouse, liaise with other departments and teams to ensure collectively our standards in customer deliveries/deadlines are maintained.  

• Assisting transport, unloading vehicles and checking in products/materials timely and efficiently. 
• Preparing orders by processing requests, collating orders, packing boxes and transporting packages to the transport section.
• Sorting and placing warehouse items with a forklift truck, as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Maintaining inventory controls.
• Preparing goods for delivery. 
• Directing the loading and unloading trucks and vans with a forklift truck in line with health & safety procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records and documenting all activities and discussions. 
• Maintaining warehouse and department tidiness/recycling as appropriate. 
• Ensuring all stock movements are accurately recorded.
• Proactively making recommendations to the Warehouse Supervisor and Operations Manager to help identify opportunities to update or improve procedures and standards.
• Complete any other reasonable duties as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor to aid business / department success.

• Organisation – ensuring the warehouse is supporting the other departments effectively and efficiently.
• Qualified to operate a forklift truck.
• Proficient in IT and can adapt to bespoke systems.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills.
