The Position
Purpose: Primarily has responsibility for ensuring the integrity of the firm’s system of quality management under ISQM1 (International Standard on Quality Management). This internal facing role involves designing, implementing, and helping to ensure that the controls in place around quality management are operating effectively.
The Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and review the firm's risk management policies, processes and procedures.
- Support, and design, potential control mechanisms and treatment plans to manage risk exposures or vulnerabilities in the risk area.
- Assessing and challenging the risk owners on risk assessments and scorings in line with the firm's risk matrix and methodology.
- Shape, build and drive high quality risk management processes, frameworks and culture across the organisation.
- Engage with first line risk owners, and the wider business to provide subject matter expertise and advise the business on responses, management and mitigation of material risk exposures and red flags.
- Assist the Quality Risk Management Committee (“QRMC”) process by organising & minuting meetings and providing ongoing updates on the evaluation of the firm’s compliance with ISQM1.
- Embed a positive culture of confident and informed risk taking through training, communication, and promotion of the risk framework.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

- Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and confidence to deal with people at all levels and to build supportive relationships with different service lines across the firm.

Experience / Qualifications / Education
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in a risk management department in a corporate firm would be an added advantage.
- Holds a relevant professional qualification or is willing to work towards one.
- Experience in risk management.
- Experience designing and implementing controls to manage risks.
- Experience in assessing control effectiveness and identifying potential weaknesses in their design.
