The Position

To deliver goods to our customers safely with care and in a timely manner, ensuring excellent customer service is provided at all times

The Responsibilities

  • Reviewing orders scheduled for delivery using the Journey Manifest and assisting the transport coordinator to plan routes.
  • Carrying out daily checks to ensure that vehicles are clean, safe to drive and ensure records are maintained.
  • Assisting and supervising the loading of goods to be delivered in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Assisting with safe unloading and delivery of goods from vehicles on site.
  • Providing excellent customer service, answering any questions and queries.
  • Ensuring orders are delivered complete, in good order and that the customer is fully satisfied.
  • Using handheld devices correctly to evidence proof of delivery.
  • Operating equipment and machines safely and competently whilst ensuring that the vehicle is not overloaded.
  • Always being compliant with all traffic laws and maintaining a clean driving record.
  • Maintaining good health to be medically fit to drive; undertaking medicals when required and advising the company of any prescribed medication, that may impact the ability to fulfil your duties.
  • Aiding other departments as needed, in a prompt, courteous and efficient manner.
  • Undergoing training as and when required by the business.
  • Complete any other reasonable duties as directed by the Operations Manager to aid business / department success.
  • Adhere to Group Policies and Procedures.
  • Adhere to the Group Health and Safety Policy.
  • Adheres to and delivers the Group Values in all aspects of the role.

Experience / Qualifications / Education

  • Holds a Heavy Goods License
  • Holds a HIAB License
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Excellent verbal, written communicaton and listening skills.
  • Works with a safety first approach at all tmes.
  • Ability to work within a team and individually.
  • Works in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Organised with a high level of accuracy and attenton to detail
  • Ability to resolve customer issues in a professional and calm manner.
  • Basic computer and problem solving skills
