You will have a qualification in a related subject; Science/ Geology/ Engineering/ Construction and be willing to undertake further academic studies as part of your continual professional development.

As assistant to the Quarry Operations Manager you would support the day to day production operations of quarry extraction, drilling and blasting rock, processing of stone and production of value adding products such as asphalt.

This would include scheduling and planning of resources, supervising the production team, monitoring production efficiency, maintaining records and supporting admin, programming maintenance tasks, with everything done in a way that creates an ever improving safety culture and safe working environment.

A technical degree, or equivalent would be advantageous, but a candidate with a solid academic background and a desire to study for higher level vocational training would suit this role.  This is a management development role, where your ability to absorb increasing levels of responsibility over time is more important than the experience that you bring to the role.
